~Gurudevi, Shri Swami Maha-Shaktiananda founded the Self-Realization Shala Order in Canada in 1970. ~Gurudevi is a direct disciple of ~Guru, Premavatar Swami Paramahansa Yogananda; author of the spiritual classic, “Autobiography of a Yogi”.
~Gurudevi developed the Shaktiananda Yoga technique in 1968. This teaching follows a practical, gentle approach to the exercises including pranayama, classic asanas, relaxation, meditation, invocation and visualization. Shaktiananda Yoga was developed for all ages, including prenatal yoga exercises, healing massage, Kriya cleansing techniques, chakra therapy, Tantra Yoga and Kundalini Yoga. Shaktipat and Kriya initiation are for advanced students.
